5 Important Principles in Website Design

When it comes to your website, extra attention should be paid to each and every minute detail in order to make sure it does optimally to process its purpose.

1) Do not use splash pages

Splash pages are the beginning pages you find when you arrive at a website. They normally own a very pretty image with words like "welcome" or "click here to enter". But they are just pretty images or looks with no real purpose. So avoid using them and do not allow your visitors to own a reason to click on the "back" button! Present them with the top quality value of your website up front by avoiding the splash page.

2) Do not use lots of banner advertisements

Now a day’s even the people who use the internet have a good knowledge about he purpose of advertisements and they have trained themselves to neglect banner advertisements if you include these type of advertisements obviously you are wasting valuable time and resource of your website. Rather, provide more valuable content and weave applicable affiliate links into your content, and try to make the visitors feel like that they need to buy the product instead of being pushed to buy by other Advertisements.

3) Have a simple and clear navigation

Even the professional users of internet don’t like to have a difficult navigation system in your website in order to get the information from your site. Always, you have to offer them with a simple and very straightforward navigation system by having simple menus so that it is easy for a young child to know how to use it. Always try to stay away from complicated Flash based menus and the attractive dropdown menus even though it looks great but might not be good at the point of view from the users. If your visitors are unaware of how to use them to navigate, they will just leave your site resulting in loss for you.

4) Give the user a clear indication of where he/she is

The website should be designed in such a way that even though the visitors are deeply engaged in surfing your website, you have to make sure that they know o they must be aware of which part of your website that they are currently surfing in at that moment. By doing so, the visitors of your site will be able to surf relevant information or navigate to any section of your website easily. Don't give a complicated system always be simple and ease since if your visitors are confused then they won’t come back again.

5) Try to avoid using audio on your website

If your website is intended to have lots of information which might make the visitor to stay a long time at your website for reading your content, you how to make sure that they're not annoyed by some background audio looping on and which is keep on repeating in your website avoid these kind of things to avoid distraction to the users or the visitors. If you are in need to add audio, just give the users with the option of having control over it like increase or decrease the volume or muting the volume or disabling it.
